Are you going to check out the meteor shower tonight (or tomorrow night)? The Bishop Museum has some great info about it: http://www.bishopmuseum.org/skywatch-august-2016/ Also, if you/your child have an interest in stars or astronomy, be sure to check out the Hawaiian Astronomical Society! They organize monthly free, public "star parties" at different locations across the island. They also offer events to local schools and groups where volunteers bring out big, fancy telescopes and can often provide short educational talks as well! Go "like" their page and check it out! Note: I am NOT affiliated with the Bishop Museum (other than being a paying member) or the Hawaiian Astronomical Society (other than my husband being a unpaid volunteer for their organization). This is not a sponsored post or paid advertisement. I'm simply passing along the information I received and sharing in case it is of interest to some of my readers. Please direct any questions to the organizations themselves. Thanks & enjoy!
